What payment options are available and how secure is ordering?

You can pay by credit or debit card, by wire transfer, by check and cash.

Can the AxeFxToolkit's harm my AxeFx ?

No, it can't

Will you do some strange tricks with my AxeFx ?

No, the output of the Toolkit's are 'normal' AxeFx system files. You can install it into the AxeFx in the same way as with any official AxeFx update.
If you have installed an official AxeFx system file update before than you know all you need.

Do I have to buy a new toolkit for future firmware versions ?

No, this toolkit was created to change the current and future versions of the AxeFx firmware OS 5.xx series.
 

Will FractalAudio support the modifications, what happened in case of any warranty problems ?

No, Fractal Audio will not support the modification / upgrades. In case you have a warranty problem install an official AxeFx system file before you send your AxeFx to be repaired.

Can I upgrade to any new AxeFx system file Fractal Audio may provide in the future ?

Yes, you can install any old, the current or any future AxeFx system file. During any system file update will the old data be erased and overridden with the new one.

B.  Installation

What steps are needed to modify my AxeFx ?

The usage of the toolkit is very easy - you need only three steps:

1. Get the  .syx file  (download it from the Fractal Audio homepage)
2. Use the Toolkit to upgrade this .syx file
3. Install the new .syx file back into the Axefx (Using a syx tool - e.g. MidiOx)

Here is an step by step instruction:

1) Get a current OS for your AxeFx - it's a file with the extension .syx
(make sure your PC shows the extensions)
You can download the latest version .syx (it's called 'Flash File') from the Fractal Audio pages.

2) Modify this .syx file with the toolkit (menu 'File/Modify AxeFx System File')
A new .syx file will be created in the same directory.
(If the old name was blabla.syx then the new name will be blabla_m.syx - same filename but with _m )

3) Store the changed .syx file back into the AxeFx

How to Use the Toolkit to upgrade the .syx file

Each toolkit includes a readme.txt file and a help system (menu '?' in the toolkit) please check it for further assistance.

C. Trouble Shooting

 
I 've got an error message telling me 'Can't convert - please reinstall the tool' - what can I do ?

The tool is not installed in the right way, either the username or the password was not entered EXACTLY as provided by the email you received after the purchase.

You have to reinstall the tool to use it. Please check the file readme.txt for more details.

I 've got an error message 'Not a AxeFx System file' !

The file you tried to convert was not a AxeFx.
Or a very old (<OS 4.02) system file

I don't see all the new Amp names from the latest OS

This may happen for a furture AxeFx firmware version - when new amps will be introduced.

Check the section '(for advanced users)' in the toolkit help menu (menu ?) for more information about it.

Check the support section of the toolkit to get new fee .ini files for additional name changes.

D. Other Questions

Can I use the Editor after installing the upgrades ?

Yes, you can. But the Editor toolkit will show the factory model names. 

Can I exchange patches with 'none toolkit users' ?

Yes, you can use patches from all other users and all other users can use your patches. The names are NOT part of the patches. 'none toolkit users' will see the stock names but it will sound the same.

What is the latest tested .syx version ? 

Latest tested version        :  5.26
