Vetta Check

 

 

To start the Vetta-Check mode do this:

  1. turn your Vetta off

  2. press and hold the 'Reverb' key

  3. while still holding the 'Reverb' key - turn the Vetta on

  4. '1 SRAM Test' should be displayed

 

Now and between the tests there are  4 options:

  • press 'Tremolo' to decrement test

  • press 'Gate' to increment test

  • press 'Compress' to execute test

  • press 'Reverb' to exit

 

 

Let's start with 'Test 1' (SRAM Test):

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. the Vetta's memory will be tested

  3. after a few seconds 'Passed.' should be displayed

 

Press 'Tremolo' to go to 'Test 17' (Checksum)

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. after a few seconds 'Checksum Passed.' should be displayed

If you have any other results for this two tests - your Vetta is defect (Test1) or your OS is not installed correct 'Test17'.
Do not continue with the other tests. If  'Test2' fails than reinstall the Vetta OS.

If everything is fine - go on with the next tests.

 

 

Press two times 'Gate' to go to 'Test2' (Switch Test):

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. Press any buttons - the state will be displayed (e.g. FACTORY down - FACTORY up)

  3. Press 'Factory' and 'User' at the same time after all buttons are checked.

 

 

Press 'Gate' to go to 'Test3' (LED Test):

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. all LED's light up

  3. the segments of the channel display light up (one segment after another)

  4. all LED's light up (one after another)

 

 

Press 'Gate' to go to 'Test4' (Character LCD):

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. All characters will be filled (from left to right)

 

 

Press 'Gate' to go to 'Test5' (Graphic LCD):

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. All dot's will be on (Fill 1)

  3. All dot's will be off (Fill 0)

  4. A bar will move from right to left (Cycle 0)

  5. A bar will move from bottom to top (Cycle R)

Did I mention that I am still dreaming of creating 'Tetris' for the Vetta controlled by playing the guitar ;-)

 

 

Press 'Gate' to go to 'Test6' (Encoder Test):

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. turn 'Amp Model' all numbers 00-99 should be displayed, there should be no missing numbers or jumps between the numbers

  3. dito. 'Prog Sel'

  4. dito. 'Encoders A,B,C,D (the ones under the display)

  5. press 'Reverb' to exit this test

 

 

Press 'Gate' to go to 'Test7' (Pots Test):

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. turn all the knobs 'Drive' .. 'Volume' all numbers 000-127 should be displayed, there should be no missing numbers or jumps between the numbers.

  3. turn all the knobs 'Reverb' .. 'High' all numbers 000-127 should be displayed, there should be no missing numbers or jumps between the numbers and the middle position should be around '65'

  4. turn the 'Master Volume' all numbers 000-255 should be displayed, there should be no missing numbers or jumps between the numbers.
  5. Don't forget to turn the 'Master Volume' down again - it's good for your ears ;-)

 

 

Press 'Gate' to go to 'Test8' (Midi Test):

  1. press 'Compress'

  2. if no Midi cable is connect 'UART 1 Error' will be displayed

  3. connect a Midi cable between 'Midi in' and 'Midi out'

  4. press 'Compress'

  5. 'UART 1 MIDI passed' should be displayed

 

 

That's it - press 'Reverb' to exit the test mode.

(Do not play around with the other tests )
